Visitation Requirements
It is the intent of the Hancock County Justice Center to provide prisoners the opportunity to maintain ties with their family and friends through the visitation program.
Visitors are responsible for following the visitation policy and regulations of this facility.

| IDENTIFICATION | Visitors must be 18 years of age and provide a valid State or Federal issued picture identification. e.g. Driver's License, State Identification card, School Identificcation card, Passport Visitors under the age of 18 must be family, directly related by ancestry or marriage and accompanied by an adult. A birth certificate is required for identifcation of children. |
| REGISTRATION | Visitors must be on the prisoner's approved visitors list. Only persons on the prisoner's list will be allowed to visit - NO EXCEPTIONS. Visitors are required to register on the Visitor Sign-In Form providing name, address, and prisoner relationship . Visitors that choose to exit the building and are not present when their name is called will forfeit their visit. Entrance may be denied to disorderly or intoxicated persons. Failure to provide proper identification or failure to secure belongins in the visitor's lockers located in the lobby may also cause entrance to be denied. Visitors must be properly attired to gain entry - shoes or sandals are required. Visitors wearing transparent, low-cut, and/or revealing clothing, shorts/cut-offs shorter than three (3) inches above the knees, halter tops/tube topes will not be allowed to visit. Visitors whose attire is deemed inappropriate by the reception officer will be denied visiting privileges. |
| PERSONAL BELONGINGS | No personal items, such as handbags, umbrellas, packages, hats, coats, etc. are permitted
in the visiting room. Visitors are requested to leave personal belongings at home, in their vehicle, or lock them in the lockers located in the lobby. The lockers require 25¢. Insert the quarter in the coin slot, unlock the locker, open door, secure items, then remove key. When you leave, the 25¢ will be returned when you. Reinsert the key in the locker. No food or beverages are allowed in the lobby. |
| LENGTH OF VISIT | Each prisoner will be allowed a maximum of two (2) visitors per visitation period
of two (2) times per week. Duration of each visitation period shall not exceed thirty (30) minutes. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied in the visiting room by an adult. Children not entering the visiting room must remain in the lobby and be watched by a responsible person. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Any person determined to be disruptive to the orderly operation of the Justice Center will be asked to leave the premises. |
| SEARCH | All visitors and their personal belongings are subject to search. No knives, firearms or other dangerous weapons are allowed in the Hancock County Justice Center |
